September 21, 1977

A series of dips in Doherty’s Road, flooded whenever heavy rain occurs, are causing headaches for many residents out there. The area of concern is located in Doherty’s Road between Tarneit Road and Derrimut Road. When the dips are flooded, residents west of Tarneit Road, many of whom work in the western suburbs, have to add up to half an hour to their travelling to reach their place of employment.

September 16, 1987

A group of Werribee residents have claimed that information submitted by the Werribee Council to a recent Planning Appeals Board hearing was misleading and in some cases, inaccurate. The residents, headed by Joe and Cathy Cassar, have protested following the decision of the Planning Appeals Board in June to allow the development of a shotgun shooting complex in Ballan Road.

September 17, 1997

Werribee police last week advised the erection of extra barriers at road works along Morris Road after the death of a 48-year-old pedestrian. Traffic operations Group Senior Constable Norman Macdonald said a Hoppers Crossing woman was killed last Thursday after being struck by a north-bound vehicle.

The race that stops the city of Wyndham will be held next Wednesday at the Werribee Racing Club, Bulban Road, Werribee. The Westpoint Ford Werribee cup is among the top five richest races on the provincial circuit.
