A snazzy entertainer: 72 Carnoustie Drive, Sunbury, 3429

Next door to Goonawarra Golf Club and 50 metres from a playground, this solidly built house from around the ’80s has been snazzed up inside and comes with a great outdoor relaxation/entertainment area.

Entry is to a foyer that rises to double-height pitch, immediately to the right of which is a step-down lounge room. This has appealing laminate floorboards in a grey oaken shade and an exposed brick wall behind a bar; timber blinds dress windows, as they do in most rooms.

Step up from here to a separate kitchen and meals zone, with the same floorboards and a conservatory-style window above the sink. Loads of chocolate-coloured soft-close cabinetry, an island bench topped with marble-look laminate, a two-door pantry, dual wall ovens and a 900mm cooktop fit out the near-new kitchen, and chic industrial pendants mark the spot for a dining table.

A kitchen door accesses the large, covered pergola that has cafe blinds, wood heater, water feature and ceiling fan. The pergola cleverly integrates with the cooking zone when entertaining.

Bifolds in the meals area usher in a beige-carpeted rumpus room with gunmetal-grey highlight wall and a door to the big backyard with bamboo and pittosporum fence screens and a shed.

Four fitted bedrooms run down the north-eastern side, as do the laundry, separate toilet and the main bathroom decked out in pearl-grey and white. The main bedroom has a burgundy-coloured highlight wall, ceiling fan, triple-door mirrored wardrobe and a grey-and-white en suite.

Other attractions include ducted heating, evaporative cooling, a split-system and a drive-through double garage with three-phase/15 amp power. The block is about 660 square metres and Goonawarra Primary School is a five-minute walk away.
