Ride for a cause

Sunbury Rotary Club will host a ride to raise money for Motor Neuron Disease research on Sunday October 23. The ride, which starts at 8am from Sunbury Downs Secondary College, is for riders 16 years old and over through the scenic valleys and rolling hills around Sunbury. in the spirit of enjoyment, not competition.

Mates for mental health

Woodend-Hesket Masters Football Club is encouraging its players to round up their mates and bring them down to the clubrooms for a forum run by Beyondblue on October 19. The night will be held at the Hawks clubrooms at Gilbert Gordon Oval on October 19 at 7.30pm. Men aged over 35 are encouraged to attend and to bring a mate along.

Market to market

A boutique makers market featuring homemade, handmade, homegrown products from around Macedon Ranges and further afield at Hanging Rock Reserve, South Rock Road in Woodend on October 30 from 9am-2pm. Entry is $5.

 

Art of healthy minds

Artists from Anglicare Victoria’s Mind and Care Connect will share their art to celebrate Mental Health Week. Paintings, mandalas, poetry, quotes and yarn crafts will be on display at Kyneton town hall on now until October 13.

Bushdance

The inaugural Kyneton Bushdance is on this Sunday October 16 to raise money for Kyneton Caring Communities. A live bush band and dance caller will lead the evening at St Mary’s Hall, 24 Hutton Street, Kyneton. Entry is $20 for a family pass, $10 single and $8 concession.

 

Festival of gardens

This year’s Garden DesignFest is on the horizon and residents will be able to tour the gorgeous gardens of the Macedon Ranges. The event is Victoria’s premier designer open garden event and this year 44 gardens in Victoria are open to the public. Open gardens will be held over two weekends in November with gardens in regional areas including the Macedon Ranges being open on the weekend of November 19 and 20. All funds raised are donated to charitable causes.
