Judge sends message on crime

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison after a crime spree in Sunbury and Macedon that ended in tragedy.

Jayden Galea was found guilty in June of dangerous driving causing death and pleaded guilty to additional charges of theft of a motor vehicle, failure to assist after an accident, theft of a Myki coin cassette, and criminal damage.

Galea was sentenced in the Melbourne County Court last month.

He will be eligible for parole in two and a half years.
