Business and community leaders are being invited to lead the charge for change in the Macedon Ranges.
Funded by the state government, social venture Make a Change is looking to help residents improve fire-affected communities such as Lancefield, Benloch, Romsey and Baynton.
This Thursday’s free Let’s Nut It Out skills session will be the second in a series of state government-funded events being held across the area.
Make a Change spokeswoman Karen Corr said the group was all about bringing expertise and knowledge to the community.
“We designed Let’s Nut It Out to connect people in a way that generates solutions and connections,” she said.
“By working with skilled mentors, people can get into the nuts and bolts of their initiative and gain momentum.”
Session mentors will include Lancefield-Romsey Bendigo Bank manager Michael O’Gorman and Cobaw Community Health program manager Caroline Sarah.
“The Lancefield community bank is a big supporter of local community projects,” Mr O’Gorman says.
“Being part of Let’s Nut It Out gives us a chance to look out for future community initiatives to support, as well as provide valuable advice.”
The event will be held at Romsey Community Hub from 9.30am.
