Gisborne’s Anzac garden unveiled

An avenue of indigenous plants is wowing visitors to Gisborne Botanic Gardens.

Wurundjeri elder Ron Jones, Macedon Ranges councillor Russell Mowatt and the Friends of Gisborne Botanic Gardens members, such as Ann O’Neill (pictured), came together for a welcome to country and smoking ceremony celebrating the recent opening of Anzac Avenue, a newly planted Australian section of the botanic gardens.

Uncle Ron and Cr Mowatt each planted a locally-found golden wattle as part of the ceremony.
